PROFESSOR ISAAC ZEB-OBIPI Vice-Chancellor Rivers State University B.Ed. (Economics) (UI), MBA (Management), PhD (Organizational Behaviour) (RSU), FIHNR, FIMC, MTAMN, MCIPM Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi is the 12th Vice-Chancellor and 9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt. He is a distinguished Professor of Management with specialization in Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. Professor Zeb-Obipi earned his Bachelor of Education degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, graduating with Second Class Honours, Upper Division. He subsequently obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in Management and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Organizational Behaviour from Rivers State University. In addition to his academic qualifications, he holds professional designations including FIHNR, FIMC, MTAMN and MCIPM, as reflected in official Rivers State University records. He began his academic career at Rivers State University in 1997 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through the ranks to become Professor of Management in 2018. Over the years, he has served the University in several strategic capacities, including Head of Department, Dean of Student Affairs, Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre, University Orator, member of Senate, member of the Governing Council, and member of the University Management Committee. Professor Zeb-Obipi is also the 79th Inaugural Lecturer of Rivers State University. His inaugural lecture, titled “People Management Tripod and Worker Productivity: The Solute, Solvent and Solution,” reflects his deep expertise in people management, organizational behaviour, human resource management and workforce productivity. His academic and professional journey has been defined by a strong commitment to people development, institutional growth, digital transformation, leadership and organizational effectiveness. Today, as Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi continues to champion academic excellence, innovation, human-capital development and stronger connections between education, industry and employability.
